About Calabash Music |
|
"Calabash Music™ is the online reincarnation of your favorite backstreet music store: that long-lost specialist record emporium whose walls were plastered with community music notices, whose access was by means of some rickety old stairs from street level and whose salespersons were as keen to talk to you about what they were selling as they were to part you from your money." – Andy Morgan, The Independent
Calabash Music™ is your entry into global music scene giving easy access to all the great, but hard-to-find, music from around the world. Calabash represents some of the most diverse and talented contemporary musicians.
Learn What Our Customers Say! -- "Calabash Music has put together a huge, incredible array of international artists. It's great to find all these treasures in one place."
Our socially conscious business model and focus on international artists is revitalizing the music industry in developing nations around the globe. When our artists sell their music directly to you, they keep half the money from each sale and they avoid the high costs of manufacturing, marketing and distributing their music on CDs.

Rather than leaving international sounds the exclusive purview of academics and granola nerds, I strongly suggest you give yourself an hour or so on the site. I can almost guarantee that anyone with an open mind will find something fascinating and fun. If I sound like I’m overflowing with enthusiasm, it’s because I am."
